The Hemis Festival, celebrated in Ladakh, India, is a vibrant display of Buddhist culture and tradition. On arrival at Leh airport, you will be met by our representative at the airport and escort you to hotel. Complete day for the acclimatization which is 3500 Mtrs above sea level. In the evening visit to Sindu Darshan and Ranchoo school. Overnight at Hotel.
Early Morning enjoy Praying ceremony at Thiksey at the time of sunrise and continue visit to Hemis Monastery. On the wary back visit to Shey Palace. Overnight at Hotel.
Full day enjoy the Hemis Tse Chu festival at Hemis. This festival features a series of mask dances by the lamas, both young and old, culminating in the destruction of the Storma (sacrificial offering) on the last day. The Colourful masks and fine silk costumes worn by the dancers represent carious guardian divinities of the Drugpa order to which Hemis belongs. The dance depicts the magical feats of Padmasambhava in his eight manifestations to defeat the enemies of Buddhism. In the evening return to Leh. Overnight at Hotel.
After breakfast leave for Pangong Lake through Changla pass 5486 Mtrs. While ascending Changla pass 5486 Mtrs. Enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of the villages below the pass. Continue drive to Tsoltak, the summer pastureland of the yaks. Arrive Durbuk and from there a short drive takes you to the western shore of the lake. Enjoy the landscape in the backdrop of the Lake. This famous blue brackish Lake of Pangong is 5/6 Kms wide and over 144 Kms long with half of it’s running the other side of the “INDO CHINA BORDER”. One rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable. In the evening return to Leh.
Leave for Uletokpo camping which is one of the most beautiful camping in the Ladakh region on the way visit Spituk monastery which is just 5 kms from Leh town. Continue drive to Alchi monastery is the only monastery in the Ladakh on flat ground. By the lunch time you will reach Uletokpo. Evening enjoys sitting on the bank of river coming down from the Ridzong side. Overnight at Camp.
Leave Uleytokpo and continue drive to Lamayuru via Khaltsi. From here another 22 Kms drive will take you to Lamayuru. The oldest and spectacularly set Lamayuru monastery founded in the 10th Century. Visit the monastery. In the late afternoon drive back to Leh which will take about 4/5 hours drive, on the way back we stop at magnetic hill. Continue your drive Nubra via highest motor able road in the world known as Khardongla top- 5600 Mtrs above sea level, enjoy the view from the top where you will not be able to spend more than 10 to 15 minutes because of the highest pass. on the other side you dip into Nubra valley which is more greenery than Leh finally reach to the camping site by evening time. Overnight at Hotel/Camps.
After breakfast at the camp, leave for Leh by the noon time you will reach to the hotel. Check into the hotel. Afternoon sightseeing of Shanker gompa and Shanti Stupa to enjoy the sunset from the place and its command magnificent view of the Leh town and remaining time for shopping and independent activities. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Transfer in time to the airport to connect onwards flight for Delhi.
